We Are The Worst, Kind Of

So tonight we lost to the very worst team in the entire NHL, the New York Islanders. With no Vinny Lecavalier, Josef Melichar, Ryan Craig, Cory Murphy, Marek Malik, or Richard Petiot, we still managed 30 shots on goal, and allowed about the same on our net. With this loss we still haven’t claimed the worst spot in the league, but remain 3rd worst ahead of the Islanders by 5 points.  With only three games left in the season for the Bolts its conceivable that we could still be in contention for the 1st overall pick in the 2009 Draft! Mike Mckenna lost again but at this point I don’t blame him. It seems like Karri Ramo plays at a higher and more consistent level when he is on the ice, and granted that Mike Smith recovers by next year, I think Ramo will be the back up.

The night before last, the bolts lost to the New Jersey Devils in overtime gaining another unneeded point. The bright spot on the ice, Mr. Steven Stamkos tied Brad Richards rookie goals record for the franchise, and with a few games left in the season it seems like he will be able to tack at least one more on and overtake the record from #19. (or #91 for Stars fans)

I need someone to remind me of something before I go.  Brad Richards is a good player right? What was it that Mullet Master Barry Melrose said about Stamkos before and after he was canned by the Bolts?  He isn’t NHL caliber, or that he wasn’t ready? Whatever it was I think this clears it up now. Shut it Melrose and go cut your hair.
