Barry Melrose Is A Moron

I’m sure everyone already knew this fact, but Barry Melrose is a moron.  It’s not just his douchey hair, or his douchebag suits, it’s his idiotic comments that truly make him a real moron.  As THN.com said in an article about Steven Stamkos this morning:

"Former Lightning coach Barry Melrose will probably never live down his assessment of Stamkos as a rookie last season. After he was fired by the Bolts and replaced by Rick Tocchet, Melrose questioned whether Stamkos was ready for the NHL and to handle the physical play against the league’s big defencemen."

Stammers now has 41 goals, 3 behind league leaders Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby, who I’m not sure if you’ve heard of either of them, but they’re face of the new NHL.  Over the past 13 months, no player in the league has more goals than Stamkos, other than Sid the Kid and Ovie.  Stammers is now on pace for 52 goals, thanks to his 17 game point streak.  He has a legitimate shot at the Maurice Richard Trophy awarded to the leagues top goal scorer.

He can seemingly put the puck anywhere he wants to on the net, with uncanny consistency.  His signature PP goal, from the left side of the net near the faceoff circle, is causing other teams to cheat towards him, and it directly led to a goal last night on the PP.  He leads the league with 17 PPG.

Previous Lightning ownership made a big commitment marketing commitment in the Bay Area to Stamkos right after he was drafted, and the production that he has since being drafted first overall, certainly justifies that commitment and his lofty expectations.
