Bolts Back On Track, Pick Up 2nd Straight Loss

Being as though the game was not on TV last night, I can only tell you what I know from following the Bolts on Twitter and reading up on the game, post game.  The Bolts lost their 2nd straight, losing to the Blue Jackets 3 to 2.

It seemed like I was receiving a Twitter update every few minutes that the Bolts were going on the Penalty Kill and after looking at the Box Score, we pretty much were.  The Bolts picked up 2 fighting majors and 6 other penalties, 5 of which came in the third period and led to two gaols for the Jackets.  Those two goals were the two that gave the Jackets the W.

Mike Lundin and Vincent Lecavalier scored for the Bolts, while Rick Nash scored two and Fedor Tyutin scored one for the Jackets.

The most disturbing stat of the game is the 18 total shots the Bolts put on goal, THE WHOLE DAMNED GAME.  It’s pretty hard to win in the NHL, but I would bet the numbers support very few winners who shoot only 18 times.

The most important part of the game for me though, was the loss moved us into 14th place in the East, and we now have the third worst record in the league, putting us in the NHL draft lottery.  With the Leafs playing well lately, there is even a possibility that we could slide into the number 2 spot by the end of the season.   6 more games, time to get 6 more losses, and 5 more Stammers goals.
