Valentine’s Day by the Bay

It is that time of year when love is in all of our hearts. And with a recent OT win over division rival Carolina, the Lightning can celebrate Valentine’s day happily with their loved ones. There have been plenty of things to love about the Lightning lately, and here are a few.

-Simon Gagne and his wife had their second child. Congratulations!

-Home cooking: the Lightning are in the middle of a 12 game homestand, and they have gone 5-2 in the first seven games of that stretch.

-Teddy Purcell: an undrafted success story, Purcell has caught fire lately and chipped in some crucial secondary scoring for the Bolts.

-Dwayne Roloson: despite some inconsistencies, he has 4 shutouts since he came to the Lightning, boasting a 9-5 record with a .913 save percentage and a 2.63 goals against average. That’ll do.

-Steven Stamkos: When you have the league leader in goals and points on your team, something is usually going right.

-Management: while the transition has been rather lengthly, the new management team has given every indication that they are in for the long haul. They have demonstrated that they are willing to invest money in this team and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. Are you All In too?

-The new logo: change is hard for everyone, but the new logo represents the new branding of the team, a team that has had a recent change in culture for the better.

-First Place: the Lightning sit in first in the Southeast division, a position they haven’t finished the season in since 2004.

What do you love about the Lightning on this Valentine’s Day?
