Lightning Roster Set

The Tampa Bay Lightning finalized their 23 player roster today.

Defenseman, Mattias Ohlund, will start the season on the Injured Reserves, which left the team some flexibility.

Steve Yzerman, Vice President and General Manager, announced that Dana Tyrell, center, was assigned to the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL on Tuesday.

19 year old, Brett Connolly, made the roster and will start the season with the Lightning in the season opener at Carolina.

The season opener roster will be:

Dwayne Roloson & Mathieu Garon as goaltenders. New forwards added to the roster are: Brett Connolly, Ryan Shannon, and Tom Pyatt. Forwards that will remain from last year’s roster are: Steven Stamkos, Vincent Lecavalier, Steve Downie, Dominic Moore, Martin St. Louis, Ryan Malone, Nate Thompson, Teddy Purcell, Adam Hall, Mattias Ritola and Blair Jones. The new defensemen added to the roster are Matt Gilroy and Bruno Gervais. Eric Brewer, Victor Hedman, Pavel Kubina, Marc-Andre Bergeron, & Brett Clark will also be on the roster this year. Mattias Ohlund will be on Injured Reserve.

So for now, Connolly stays, Ohlund is on IR, and Tyrell has been sent to the Admirals.
