Movember in the NHL

As most of us know, November is the month where men grow mustaches for a good cause, also known as Movember. The cause raises money for men’s health issues. During Movember, men across the globe grow mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer. On November 1st, you start the month off as clean shaven, and continue to grow your mustache of choice throughout the month.

Now I’m sure you’re wondering what this has to do with hockey. Well, I’ll tell you. Several of the NHL players around the league, including members of the Tampa Bay Lightning, will be growing mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men’s health.

A few of the Bolts players sporting the ‘stache for Movember are: Steve Downie, Teddy Purcell, and Nate Thompson

So, if you see one of your favorite players sporting an unusual mustache, just remember it’s for a good cause and it will only be for the month. Please support all of the players that are supporting cause, or participate in No Shave November yourself.
