They asked you to “Be The Thunder”, and you’ve expected the very best of them. So, here you go…
After a 5-4 OT win over the 2010 Stanley Cup champ Blackhawks, the Bolts barely forced OT with the 2010 runner-up Flyers. Marc-Andre Bergeron brought things even in the 3rd period, and Brett Connolly punched the winning goal past Bryzgalov midway through the extra frame.
The frustrations on the power play may be overlooked by fans, for now with the win still fresh, but expect our Bolts to focus on improving this area of their game. After all, a single game showing 1 for 8 with the extra man isn’t exactly something to be proud of.
Chris Pronger made his return after suffering an eye injury off Toronto Maple Leafs Mikhail Grabovski’s high stick. His return was probably personally frustrating, but who cares! (Coming soon – Five Reasons Why I Hate Pronger)
Heroics on this eve = Connolly = One shot, one goal, one game winner. It was nice to see the young winger show off his hockey smarts by crashing the net on the rush. Way to go Bolts!!!
