Lightning Bring Home Two Wins In Home-and-Home Games

The Tampa Bay Lightning played home-and-home games against the Florida Panthers on Friday and Saturday night. Both nights the Lightning brought home wins. Friday night, Lightning won 2-1 in overtime, and Saturday night, Lightning won 5-1 in regulation.

Tampa Bay Lightning played the Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Florida on Friday night.  Tomas Fleischmann, of the Panthers, opened up the scoring with a slapshot 12:38 in the second period. However, 8:59 in the 3rd period, our captain, Vinny Lecavalier, tied up the game at 1-1. With no goals being scored in the remaining minutes of the 3rd period, the game was brought to an overtime. Steven Stamkos scored the game winning goal 2:29 in overtime, bringing the game to an end at 2-1.

On Saturday night, Florida Panthers came to Tampa Bay, Florida to play the Lightning once again. Marty St. Louis opened up the scoring at 2:07 in the first period. The second period, the Lightning picked up 3 goals. Tom Pyatt scored at 3:49, Steven Stamkos at 6:02, and Ryan Malone at 10:35. At the end of the second period, the Bolts were up 4-0. 17:43 in the third period, Shawn Matthias, Florida Panthers, scored making the game 4-1. With 59 seconds left in the game, Steven Stamkos scored his second goal, bringing the game to an end at 5-1.
