Our Sincerest Condolences To The Esposito And Selivanov Families

Daughter of Lightning founder and NHL Hall Of Famer Phil Esposito, Carrie Esposito Selivanov, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2012 from an unknown illness. She passed away in Germany where she was residing with her family. She leaves behind her husband, former NHLer and  Tampa Bay Lightning player Alex Selivanov, and  three children, Dylan (18), Nikko (13) and Rocco (10).

"Phil Esposito released a statement this evening regarding his daughter’s passing:“On behalf of Alex Selivanov, Carrie’s sisters Laurie and Cherise, and my wife Bridget, I’d like to thank everyone in the Tampa Bay community and in the hockey fraternity for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes as we grieve Carrie’s passing yesterday. We are shocked and saddened with her death but we will remember her for the energy and vigor that she brought to each day of her life. Our focus will now center on her sons Dylan, Nikko and Rocco.”"

Private funeral services will be held in Germany later this week, however condolences for the family can be sent to:

The family has not yet determined where they would prefer memorial donations to be made. We will provide the information as it becomes available.
