Post Practice Update Monday, Feb 6, 2012

Coach Boucher and The Lightning are obviously happy and feeling confident heading into tomorrow night’s game against the L.A. Kings after the 6-3 win over the Florida Panthers Saturday. This will end the home stand, where they look to keep the point streak going on the road.
Dwayne Roloson will start in net tomorrow night. He played extremely well against Phoenix until taken aback by a massive hit. Even after that, he managed to only let in one goal while still being stunned after the scary experience. He recovered and finished the game, making some amazing saves. Coach Boucher acknowledges that Mathieu Garon has been playing wonderful, but Roli deserves to have a chance as well.
Adam Hall has been skating with the team and has been giving the go ahead to play. Marc-Andre Bergeron might be ready for tomorrow night’s game and is ready for the road trip. The only problem is that Coach would have to take out someone who’s been playing well to make room for these guys. While Adam Hall has been skating with the team, Marc-Andre Bergeron is questionable as he hasn’t had enough practice for the coaches to feel confident that he’ll head into the game as sharp as he needs to be. Nate Thompson skated with the team for today’s practice, but left the ice early due to body maintenance. No word on Ryan Malone, he seems to be getting better every day but hasn’t been cleared to practice with the team yet.
Brett Connolloy knocked in over seven minutes of ice time in Saturday’s game after being benched for the previous game. Coach Boucher said that he skated well. He is definitely improving and working hard on the areas that need work.
On the road trip, in a post-practice interview, Coach Boucher told the media that though it will be back to back, he is planning it game by game. As far as tomorrow night’s game against L.A., he said that they don’t give up goals easily, if you want to beat them, it’s 2-1.
“I don’t change lines for the fun of it. I change lines because there’s nothing happening.”
He sees definite improvement by the defensemen and the team as a whole. Sure he would have liked to of had these improvements four months ago, but the reality is that they have them now and they have them because of nothing else but hard work. Check back tomorrow for a full game preview.
