To add to the Tampa Bay Lightning’s 20th Anniversary extravaganza it seems the Bolts organization have put out an all call to artists living in the Tampa Bay Area. The Lightning asking only local artists to enter works (sculptures and hanging pieces) into a contest to be displayed around the Tampa Bay Times Forum. A panel of local art leaders will choose the winners by scoring each piece between a 1 and 100, 41 hanging pieces will be selected in addition to four sculptural works.
The top three winners will receive a cash prize too! But here’s the catch, in addition to residing in the Bay Area you must be 18 or over. That seems a little unfair seeing as some of the best area artists I know are high school students who’ve had their work on display in Carnegie Hall.
Images should reflect TBL’s victories and team spirit. The most conceptual and emotive pieces are most likely to be selected. The other catch is no digital work, so computing graphic designers are a bit out of luck.
