Less Than An Hour To Go

In his latest update, Gary Bettman said that the board of directors met for two hours. Well lawdy frickin dah. I’m sorry, but there is just not enough being done on both sides. I’m not placing any blame here at the moment. I’m just looking at the clock, seeing that there is less than an hour now until the CBA expires. If they really wanted to work on this thing and get it done, it wouldn’t be sipping on a cup of coffee, rejecting a proposal, and having dinner with the wife and kids. No. If they REALLY wanted to get a new CBA in place, they would be working around the clock. Both sides. Coming up with some kind of compromise. This is a year of people’s lives they are talking about here. Even if it’s just preseason or half a season, that still messes up people’s lives. People who depend on the NHL games for a living. Bettman, Fehr, owners, players… I hope that you are all tucked nice and neat in your comfy beds with your expensive comforters and thousand dollar ipods playing you lullabies. You obviously don’t really want to address the issues at hand or you’d be working non-stop until some sort of compromise is met. I say get them all, lock them in a big room, and don’t let them out until an agreement is reached.
There. I’ve vented. I’ve said my peace. I’m going to bed now, and waking up to the reality that there will be no NHL season to write about come October. Unless a miracle happens, and yes, I do believe in miracles.
