Despite the ongoing black cloud of the lockout, the Lightning organization continues to reach out to their fans as promised. They are continuing the Rolling Thunder 20-Stop Tour on Friday, September 28th in Clearwater. This will be one of two stops this week. From 5:30-10pm the truck will be at Coachman Park in Downtown Clearwater for the Bright House Clearwater Super Boat National Championship and Seafood Festival. The “Blast Friday” stop will feature the Lightning girls, interactive games, and Thunderbug. No stop would be complete with out that pesky bug that Raid just holds no power with. (Just kidding. We all love Thunderbug!)
The second stop of the week will be on Saturday September 29th in Sarasota. From 11am to 1pm they will be in downtown Sarasota at the Farmer’s Market, presented by the Downtown Sarasota Alliance. Sarasota Mayor Suzanne Atwell and other high-ranking city officials will be on hand to meet and mingle with fans. Lightning TV play-by-player Rick Peckham and Brian Bradley will also be there, along with the Lightning girls and yep… you guess it… Thunderbug. They will have street hockey set up. Equipment will be provided for fans who would like to play.
Fans will receive a rewards card at every event and can collect points for each time they attend a stop on the tour. Fans who all 20 events will get a 20thanniversary t-shirt and a chance to win a pair of front row Lightning tickets for a game during the upcoming season. Those that go to five Rolling Thunder stops will get a McCafé ® real fruit smoothie or frappé from McDonald’s ®. All fans will have the chance to win a Vincent Lecavalier signed jersey, Lightning team magnets and other prizes for attending the Rolling Thunder stops.
