We'd Love To Hear From You!

In a new series, I’d like to hit on topics that various fans may differ on. I’ll ask the question, and you can answer on our Facebook page or Tweet it to us @BoltsByTheBay.

My first question is this:

What superstitions do you have regarding your jersey?

The editor of the FanSided NHL blog Sabre Noise  told me that it would be a ‘Jersey Foul’ to put my nick name, Hula Doll, on the back of my jersey. I disagree. I have always had basketball, football, and even hockey jerseys with my nickname on it. The only exception is the one that my husband proposed to me with. I was not proposed to with a ring (at first), it was a Lightning jersey with his last name on the back. Perfect for us!

I just can’t wear jerseys with current players on them. I curse them. My last current jersey was Mike Alstott. I’ll say nothing more about that. I will wear retired jerseys. I’ve sported my Bradley jersey at alumni games, probably embarrassing the poor guy.  I’d rock an Andreychuk as well, but I just can’t bring myself to wear a Stamkos or St. Louis. Maybe now that my favorite defenseman won’t be skating around in Bolt Blue anymore, I can get a number 7 Clark.

What do you think? Would it be wrong for someone to put their nickname or business name on their jerseys? What other jersey superstitions do you have? Tweet us or post it on our FB page!
