Today it was back to business almost as normal. The Lightning hit the ice in Brandon to practice and was able to speak to the media afterwards. Coach Boucher held a press conference at the forum. Fans are happy, other fans are complaining. Anticipation of the training camp is buzzing in the air, and everyone’s awaiting the season’s schedule.
It appears that the league told hockey clubs to expect a 48 game schedule, eyeing a January 19th start. There will be no training camps to start before Monday. The schedule will likely be released on Thursday or Friday.
Throughout the summer a number of the guys still practiced on their own in Brandon. Others either played over seas or back home. They haven’t been sitting around watching football and eating nachos. These boys are ready to hit the ice as a team again.
