While everyone is excited for the return of the National Hockey League, and there are so many people reporting about it… again.  I decided to take the road less traveled.  The East Coast Hockey League has a Tampa Bay Lightning affiliate called the Florida Everblades playing just down I-75 at the Germain Arena in Estero, Florida.  The Lightning will be down there from Monday through Thursday this week to get ready for the shortened 2012-2013 season.  Who knows?  Maybe a “Blade” will be on the roster this season or future seasons.

The Florida Everblades are also an affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes…  just for the record.

This past week the Everblades won every game played against the Toldeo Walleye.  On January 9th, with 26 shots for the Walleye, and 24 for the Everblades… the final score was 4-1.  On January 11th, with 40 shots for the Walleye, and 27 for the Everblades… the final score was 3-2.  Last night (Saturday, January 12th), with 36 shots for the Walleye, and 31 for the Everblades…  the final score was 4-3.

The Toledo Walleye are the East Coast Hockey League of the Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.

GO EVERBLADES!!!
