The day has finally come, tomorrow hockey begins again in Bolts Nation as the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Washington Capitals.  It will be important to get the season started off on a good note, but it will even bigger because the Caps are a division rival.  This season divisional games will be even more crucial then before because of how short the season will be.

Ideally, the Lightning will win about 12-0 with Hat-tricks from Steven Stamkos and Vincent Lecavalier; Anders Lindback and the defense will help out a little bit in a nice embarrassing shutout of the Alex Ovechkin led Capitals.  Unfortunately, this will probably not happen as these two teams should be very close in terms of skill and competitiveness.  The Lightning and Capitals both have high powered offense with numerous offensive stars, they both have a solid defense with a mix of veterans and youth, and they both have two young goaltenders getting their first real chance at being a number 1 goalie.

This game is going to a blast to watch for many different reasons: It’s the first game in a long, long time, the Lightning have a lot of new faces that should help contribute to a successful season, they are playing the rival Capitals, and finally, we are already in the playoff push.  This season, a bad first 10 games can end your year.  One of the best lines in sports is a good start can’t guarantee you a successful season but a bad start can kill you.  This  will definitely be true this season so it is imperative that the Bolts start off this year on a good note.  That all starts with the game tomorrow night.

Everyone is excited, Lightning fans have been waiting for a while to see this new look roster in action and the evidence shows as the home opener is a sell-out with only a few standing room only tickets left.  Bolts Nation wants to see their team play, and they aren’t coming to see them play bad.  Lightning fans want to see a “show” as Coach Boucher puts it, and nothing short of a big win to send Ovi and the Caps home will accomplish that.  Enjoy it Lightning fans, we all deserve these games as hockey fans so have a great time tomorrow watching the game, and GO BOLTS!
