Martin St. Louis is often called the ‘Heart and Soul’ of the Tampa Bay Lightning. It’s impossible not to love the guy. He is one of the most unselfish men in the league, with his many assists and leadership qualities. He’s a fan favorite, and he’s also wonderful with the fans. He always entertains, and puts the fans first. His story is one of inspiration. He comes from humble beginnings of being undrafted and being told that the would never make it in the NHL because of his undersized height. Well, he showed them, didn’t he? Way to go, Marty!
In New York, the NHL named him one of three stars of the week ending on January 27th. The first star went to Patrick Marleau, a left winger for the San Jose Sharks. The second star went to Corey Crawford, goaltender for the Chicago Blackhawks. Mary got the third star. He tied for second in the NHL with eight assists and ranked third with 11 points in the Lightning’s four of five victories.
Bolts By The Bay would like to congratulate Marty St. Louis on this well deserved award. Though he may have gotten the third star in the NHL, he’ll always be ranked a number one with us.
