Tampa Bay Lightning At New Jersey Devils: Preview

The Tampa Bay Lightning will face the New Jersey Devils for the final stop of their four game road trip. This has been a particular demanding road trip, the Lightning have not gained a point so far. It will be hard to gain one tonight against New Jersey, however it can be done. No team is perfect. The Lightning will be a force to be reckoned with as they want to pick up a win on this trip.

This is the second of three meetings between the two clubs. The first one was back on February 7th in New Jersey. The Devils took that one 4-2. The last of the three games will be in Tampa on March 29th. Both of the teams are struggling. The Lightning has lost five in a row, and twelve of the past fifteen. The Devils have dropped five in a row. The first four were on a road trip, the last one was the first of a back to back, two game home stand. With goaltender Martin Brodeur injured and unable to play, they are surely feeling his worth.

For the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ryan Malone continues to be out with an upper body injury. Benoit Pouliot has been placed on injured reserve. Mathieu Garon will not play due to a lower body injury. New Jersey’s Martin Brodeur continues to recover from his back injury, and Dainius Zubrus suffers from an injured wrist.
