As most of you already know, Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Mathieu Garon was forced to leave early in the second period of last night’s encounter with the Pittsburgh Penguins at the CONSOL Energy Center. While he expressed to the media this morning that he was indeed feeling much better and that he did not expect to miss much time; as a precaution, the Lightning have listed Garon as Day-To-Day with a Lower Body Injury.
Anders Lindback was already scheduled to be in net tonight due to the back-to-back games.
The Lightning have recalled goaltender Cedrick Desjardins from Syracuse Crunch to serve as back up for Lindback tonight against the New Jersey Devils.
Even though LW Ryan Malone did meet up with the team in Pittsburgh, he did not play in last night’s game against the Penguins. The possibility is still there for him to return to the lineup, but it is not likely that he will return tonight against the Devils. Hopefully, this will change, but I highly doubt it. He has been out since February 10th with a Lower Body Injury.
After taking a vicious hit into the boards from defenseman Dennis Seidenberg during the Lightning’s battle with the Boston Bruins on Saturday, Benoit Pouliot has been out of commission with an injury to his right arm. Today, Benoit Pouliot was placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to March 2nd. He will be unable to skate until this Saturday at the earliest.
One can only hope that all of our Bolts heal up and can return to the ice as soon as possible.
