This is definitely not the news that the Bolts Nation wanted to wake up to this morning, but the Tampa Bay Lightning announced today that its captain, center Vincent Lecavalier, is out indefinitely with a Lower Body Injury. It is expected that he will be placed on the injured reserve today.

Being placed on the IR, he will definitely miss a minimum of 7 days; however, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman suspects it may be longer.

While the true nature of his injury is not known, it is speculated that he sustained a knee injury on Thursday against the Florida Panthers after being knocked to the ice late in the game.

The captain has 7 goals and 15 assists for a total of 22 points so far this season.

As a result, the Lightning has recalled Tyler Johnson from the Syracuse Crunch.

We will keep you updated as new details emerge.

Until then, we here at Bolts by the Bay wish the Captain a speedy recovery.
