Tampa Bay Lightning Recall C Tyler Johnson from the Syracuse Crunch

In the wake of the announcement of the lower body injury to Tampa Bay Lightning Captain Vincent Lecavalier, the Lightning have recalled star center Tyler Johnson from the Syracuse Crunch.

Center Tyler Johnson playing as a member of the Norfolk Admirals in the 2011-2012 season.

He will make his NHL debut tonight against the New York Islanders at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Johnson leads the Syracuse Crunch in points as well as goals. He is currently 2nd in the American Hockey League for Goals scored with 32. Add in his 26 assists and that gives him a total of 58 points in his 59 games played so far this season.

Undrafted, he was signed by the Tampa Bay Lightning as a Free Agent in March of 2011. It was that season that he joined the then-Lightning affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals. He then went on a 13-game scoring streak, which included back-to-back two goal games. He also skated in 14 playoff games with the Admirals that season scoring 6 goals and 8 assists for a total of 14 points, which helped lead Admirals to win the Calder Cup.

We here at Bolts by the Bay wish Tyler Johnson all the best in his NHL debut. We look forward to seeing what he can do.
