Somewhere in the back of my mind I hear a certain Whitesnake song playing. Here we go again into overtime. Here are some of my knee jerk reactions to the overtime period between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins.
If there is anything that this game is definitely not is boring.
In terms of penalties, this period was pretty calm. Well, at least I would hope so considering that for the first time this game, there were no penalties assessed in the period.
The Shots on Goal in the extra time were much more balanced than the other periods. This period they anted up to 6-5 still in favor of the Blackhawks.
This brings the total Shots on Goal for the Game to 47-33 Chicago. Like I said in my previous post, in most cases I would favor quality over quantity any day; however, I think in this situation, it is exactly the opposite that ultimately led the Hawks to victory.
As I touched on before in my previous post, the key to the Blackhawks getting past Tuukka Rask tonight has been constant pressure. You have to be in the right place at the right time ready to pull the trigger when the rebound comes your way.
Now that the Hawks have this series all tied up at 2, they will head back to the Madhouse on Madison for Game 5. It truly is anyone’s series at this point.
Do you think the Hawks will be able to maintain the momentum and regain the lead in the series, or do you think the Bruins will regroup and put a halt to the Hawks forward movement? Sound off in the comments below and let us know.
