Wedding Bells for John Tortorella and Roberto Luongo

Isn’t it just sweet? The engagement has been announced in Vancouver. John Tortorella and Roberto Luongo are hopefully getting accustomed to one another. And at least Tortorella is gushing with excitement.

I think Roberto’s a hell of a goalie…I watched him in the Olympics…I’ve watched him throughout his career…He is a really good goalie.

Neglected in a prior relationship, Roberto Luongo isn’t ready to hop on the ice just yet.

Speaking about the trade of Cory Schneider, Luongo said,

I’m shocked. I have to let this sink in and figure out what I’m going to do.

Don’t wait too long, Roberto. Your new partner isn’t exactly the most patient person of all time. On some days he’ll have a short fuse with the family, and his social relationships (like with the media) aren’t always the most cordial.

Of course, John was divorced by the Rangers so I think he and Roberto have some common ground, and they both can use their recent hard times to forge a loving and productive relationship.

All I know is that Vancouver’s hockey family has a hunger for the Stanley Cup, and if playoff success isn’t on the horizon, John Tortorella won’t be the only person losing his cool.

Enjoy the honeymoon you two…for as long as it lasts.
