Happy Friday, ladies and gentlemen of the Bolts Nation! Welcome back to this week’s addition of Around the Twitterverse, where we gather the top tweets from in and around the Bolts Nation and bring you all of the hockey news and opinion that 140 characters can handle.
We have all made it through another grueling week of the NHL off-season.
Normally, I would try to narrow the tweets down to one particular topic, but there is just so much going on this week that I have decided to open it up to a number of different things.
So, without further ado, I give to you this week’s Tweets of the Week From Around the Bolts Nation.
As some of you may already know, Tampa Bay Lightning Feature Reporter Brittany Zion has decided not to return to the Lightning organization next season.
…I have decided that I will not be returning for another season with the #TBLightning. I want to thank the fans, coaching staff & players
— Brittany Zion (@BrittanyZion) July 18, 2013
Fans have already taken to Twitter to express their feelings on the matter.
— Daniel Schara (@dschara36) July 18, 2013
This sentiment seems to be shared among many fans in the Lightning Community.
— Tenacious Lee (@DangleDoppler) July 18, 2013
@BrittanyZion WOW?!?!! We will miss you. You always brought a smile toy gave seeing you in the tunnel for warmups. Good luck in the future

Another topic Lightning up the various Social Media sites has been the announcement of the Tampa Bay Lightning preseason schedule.
The preseason kicks off this year in Orlando as the Lightning face off with the St. Louis Blues at the Amway Center in Orlando. Then, the very next day, the action returns home to the Tampa Bay Times Forum as the Lightning take on the Nashville Predators.
Here is what fans have been saying about the upcoming preseason.

I know what you mean. I have been thinking the same thing since the last game of last season.
I’M GOING HOME FOR MY BIRTHDAY TO SEE MY HOCKEY TEAM PLAY! *ahem* I’ll be in Tampa mid-September and getting my #TBLightning on. Also, beer
— Angela Weller (@angelsil_to) July 18, 2013
What better way to spend your birthday than at a Tampa Bay Lightning home game? That’s usually where I am every season for mine.
This week, the Lightning organization has been making renovations to the Lightning locker room.
— Tampa Bay Lightning (@TBLightning) July 17, 2013
This fan may just be on to something.
#TBLightning doing lockeroom renovations…guessing they needed to make the goalie stalls bigger for the over 13 feet of goaltender.
— Larissa (@thegrlonthewall) July 17, 2013
Don’t forget about the extra height we added on defense this season. What are they feeding these guys?
The Tampa Bay Times Forum gave us a little more on the renovations via their Instagram account.
— TampaBay Times Forum (@tbtimesforum) July 17, 2013
I’ll have to admit, it is pretty weird seeing the locker room all torn apart.
The last topic we’ll touch on this week has been the newest player signings this week. As I am sure you are already aware, the Tampa Bay Lightning has re-signed both defenseman Mark Barberio and right wing J.T. Brown.
— Amy (@Boltmaiden) July 16, 2013
I’ll admit, I am pretty happy about both of those signings myself.
— Heather Matthews (@heeyitsheather) July 15, 2013
— vanessa (@_vkimmy) July 15, 2013
— Lauren Burg (@tblightning491) July 16, 2013
Nice job resigning Mark Barberio. @TBLightning Looking forward to seeing him play in the 2013-14 season! Go Bolts!
