Yesterday, Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman announced that the Bolts had made the final cuts to their roster, thus finalizing their roster for the 2013-14 NHL season.

There were some that Bolts fans were very happy to see on the main roster, but there were also some key omissions that left fans scratching their heads.

Ten players were sent to various teams within the Tampa Bay Lightning organization.

Among them were the third overall draft pick from this year’s NHL Draft Jonathan Drouin, and right winger Brett Connolly.

Here is the final roster for the 2013-14 Tampa Bay Lightning hockey season.

I am glad to see that a number of players from the Syracuse Crunch who spent time with the Lightning last season have made their way onto the main roster.

One of my favorites, Tyler Johnson, will make a wonderful addition to the Lightning lineup. Even though he spent time with the Lightning during the middle of the AHL season, Johnson still managed to hold onto the lead in Goals Scored in the AHL with 37.

He was also voted the AHL’s Most Valuable Player last season.

Another player I am happy to see on the Lightning’s main roster is Radko Gudas.

Of course, we all knew that he was on the fast track to the Lightning lineup when the Bolts renewed his contract soon after the end of the regular season, but as we all know, nothing is really final until the end of Training Camp.

Also, the Lightning have promoted defenseman Andrej Sustr to the main roster.

The Bolts could also use some extra reach on the defensive line. With the Bolts being in the newly formed Atlantic Division with the likes of Zdeno Chara, the captain of the Boston Bruins, having such a large reach and a killer slap shot, it will be nice to have someone who has the size to go toe to toe with him.

Are there any names that surprise you in the Lightning’s final team roster? Who do you think the Bolts omitted that should have made the main squad? How do you think the Lightning will fare heading into regulation this season?

There are so many questions in need of answers. So, what are you waiting for? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think!
