The Tampa Bay Lightning have been plagued by the injury bug lately. Following some negative news regarding the injury to Lightning center Steven Stamkos, the team suffered not one, but two more injuries.

The Lightning will most definitely be without center Valtteri Filppula. Filppula suffered a non-displaced fracture to his right ankle during the Lightning’s last game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bolts have called up center Vladislav Namestnikov to fill the void left by Filppula.

Also, there is a good possibility that the Lightning may have to finish out this stretch without the help of goaltender Ben Bishop. The Lightning have recalled goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis from the Syracuse Crunch in the event that Bishop, who is currently listed as Day-to-Day, is not ready to go by game time.

The Lightning have certainly faced their fair share of adversity, but the Lightning have shown time and time again that when they focus and work together as a team, they can overcome anything.

The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. EST. Get ready Bolts Nation…it’s time to Be The Thunder!!
