With the preliminary round of the Olympic men’s hockey tournament now in the books, the top 4 teams have been seeded and drew byes for the knockout round scheduled for Tuesday, 18 February.
Sweden clinched the No. 1 seed, US is seeded No. 2, and Canada and Finland are third and fourth, respectively. The remaining teams play elimination games which will weed them out for the quarterfinals games against the top 4.
There are no games scheduled for today, Monday 17 Feb. The TV schedule for Tuesday’s games is as follows:
Austria v. Slovenia 3:00 a.m. NBCSN
Norway v. Russia 7:30 a.m. NBCSN
Latvia v. Switzerland 12:00 p.m. MSNBC
Slovakia v. Czech Republic 12:00 p.m. NBCSN
Wednesday’s quarterfinals schedule times are following the same early morning/noon times.
Match-ups: Sweden v. Slovenia-Austria winner 3:00 a.m.
Finland v. Russia-Norway winner 7:30 a.m.
US v. Czech Rep-Slovakia winner 12:00 p.m.
Canada v. Switzerland-Latvia winner 12:00 p.m
The US and Canada games seem to be the hot tickets based on the times their games are scheduled. I hope you can find a TV somewhere at home or work to catch the games, but they should be replayed in the evenings, so keep your fingers in your ears to avoid hearing the scores if you have to wait for those.
