Are you a passionate hockey fan? Do you bleed blue for the Tampa Bay Lightning? Are you looking for a place where you can share your thoughts and opinions about the above subjects with thousands of people who share the same passions as you? Then you should come and join the Bolts By The Bay Family!
Right now, Bolts By The Bay is looking to fill a number of positions within the team. As of this moment, these are unpaid positions; however, should you shine in one of these positions there is always the possibility that a paid position may open up in the future within the organization.
Here are some of the positions that we are currently recruiting for:
Staff Writer: A staff writer should be committed to posting no less than one topic-relevant article per week with little to no errors in the copy. These articles can be anything from curating the news to an original piece filled with your thoughts and opinions on a topic-relevant subject, and should be at least 200 words in length.
Senior Staff Writer: The requirements of a Senior Staff Writer are much like those of a Staff Writer. The only difference is that you would need to provide no fewer than two topic-relevant articles per week under the same standards as a Staff Writer.
Syracuse Crunch Correspondent: You would essentially be considered a Staff Writer; however, your primary focus would be the Tampa Bay Lightning’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch. You would cover anything from game previews, reviews, team trades/signings, or anything else news related to our new and upcoming Bolts.
Florida Everblades Correspondent: Much like the Syracuse Crunch Correspondent, you would be considered to be a Staff Writer; however your primary task would be to cover the Tampa Bay Lightning’s ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades. Everything from game previews to reviews, trades/signings, or anything else newsworthy that may come up.
Social Media Manager: This may very well be one of the most important positions that we are looking to fill. This person will work closely with the Editor to make sure that the site’s various social media sites are being properly maintained, that we are actively engaging our fans, and someone who can occasionally assist in providing commentary for the site on game nights.
To assume any of the above positions, you should have a solid grasp on the game of hockey (at least the basics,) knowledge of the team and its players, and a love for interacting with other fans.
If you feel that you are the perfect person for any of the above positions, then what are you waiting for? Your first step is to fill out the FanSided Network’s Writers Application. You should be prepared to provide a topic relevant example of your best work. Once we receive your application, a member of our leadership team will review your application and be in contact with you.
