Tonight is judgment day for two teams in the National Hockey League. One will continue on to the final round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the other will get ready to hit the golf course with the rest of the league. The question remains, which team are you pulling for; the Chicago Blackhawks or the Los Angeles Kings?
Now, don’t get me wrong, neither of these two teams hold the place in my heart that our beloved Tampa Bay Lightning do; however, as a fan of the sport of hockey as a whole, you can’t help but watch the remaining teams battle it out for their opportunity to hold the greatest trophy in all of sports high above their heads.
Tonight’s matchup is going to come down to one thing, and one thing only; which team wants it more.
Both of these teams have recent experience holding the cup up high. As you already know, the Jonathan Toews and the Chicago Blackhawks are the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The taste of victory is still very fresh in their mouths; however, if they want the opportunity to partake the same pleasures this season, they are going to have to bring their absolute “A” game against the Kings tonight.
On the other hand, the Los Angeles Kings are no stranger to winning themselves. In the 2012 season, it was Dustin Brown and the Los Angeles Kings who held the cup high above their heads.
Now, in this series, the Blackhawks started out strong; however, after dropping three games in a row to the Kings, the Blackhawks found themselves in a must-win situation every single night.
At this point, there are a little under three hours left until we can witness the final showdown of the 2014 Western Conference Championships. Either the Blackhawks or the Kings will be moving on to face Brad Richards and the New York Rangers in the biggest series all season long.
The question remains, which side are you pulling for?
