The Tampa Bay Lightning has re-signed defenseman Mark Barberio to a one-year deal.
After trading the Lightning’s second round pick to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Jason Garrison, the rights to Jeff Costello, and a 7th round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Yzerman has kept the momentum going and re-signed yet another of the Lightning’s young guns.
Last season, Barberio suited up for a total of 49 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning. In that amount of time, h was able to score 5 goals and 5 assists for a total of 10 points along with his plus-10 rating.
Before being brought up to the main roster last season, Barberio competed as a member of the Lightning’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
In the 73 games he suited up for in the 2012-13 season with the Crunch, Barberio scored 8 goals and 34 assists for a total of 42 points and a plus-7 rating.
All of the players listed are incredible assets to the Lightning organization, and could very well be an instrumental part of the puzzle to creating the Lightning’s championship team of the future.
