NHL Draft 2014: Second Round Selection Order

In just under thirty more minutes, all of the greatest young players in the world of hockey will have descended on the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia for the 2014 NHL Draft in the hopes of landing themselves a spot on a National Hockey League team; thus beginning their journey into professional hockey.

The deals have already started coming in and the actual draft hasn’t even started yet.

The Tampa Bay Lightning was supposed to have the 50th overall selection in the second round; however, that distinction will now belong to the Vancouver Canucks.

The good news is, the Lightning definitely got more than a fair return on the pick as they have acquired defenseman Jason Garrison, the rights to left wing Jeff Costello, and a 7th round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

See…I told you the deal was well worth it.

Here is a look at the official selection order for the second round of the draft, which kicks off at 7:00 p.m. EST tonight on the NBC Sports Network and TSN.

Who the Tampa Bay Lightning will pick is not as abundantly clear as it was last year. We all know what the Lightning’s needs are at the moment; however, the question still lies in which one of those needs will Yzerman choose to fill first?

I guess we’ll have to watch and find out.
