The Tampa Bay Lightning have selected with the nineteenth overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. Now, the fans have taken to Twitter to express their reactions to the selection.
The 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft is well underway at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
The pick is in, and it is now official; the Tampa Bay Lightning has selected defenseman Anthony Deangelo from the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League with the nineteenth overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft.
This is the second defenseman that the Lightning has acquired today, having traded our second round pick in this year’s draft to the Vancouver Canucks for defenseman Jason Garrison.
Now that the pick is in and we all know who the newest member of the Bolts Nation is, Tampa Bay Lightning fans have taken to Twitter to express their reactions to Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman’s first selection in this year’s draft; Anthony Deangelo.
Anthony DeAngelo is a steal!! #NHLDraft2014

And with that, Anthony DeAngelo immediately becomes Florida’s “he says what we’re all thinking athlete.” #NHLDraft2014

There is no denying that Deangelo comes with a little bit of baggage, and as Yzerman said, there are changes that need to be made if he wants to be a real part of the Tampa Bay Lightning; however, there is a part of me that likes a guy that comes with a little grit and grime on him.
If he can find a balance between his mouth and his playing ability, then he could be just what the Tampa Bay Lightning need going forward.
What are your thoughts on the matter? What do you think Deangelo can bring to the table for the Tampa Bay Lightning in the future? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
