Check out Ondrej Palat as he accepts the Ice Bucket Challenge.
Throughout the course of the week, numerous Tampa Bay Lightning players have stepped up to the plate and taken the Ice Bucket Challenge in order to promote ALS Awareness. Now, it would seem as if there is another who is ready to step up and get wet.
Next is Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Ondrej Palat.
As most of you probably already know, he was challenged by his partners in crime, Tampa Bay Lightning center Tyler Johnson.
Now, if you are one of the few people who still are not quite sure what this Ice Bucket Challenge thing is, here is how it works.
Once a person has completed the challenge themselves, which consists of videotaping yourself as you drench yourself in ice cold water for the benefit of ALS Awareness, that person gets to nominate other people to take place in the challenge. The challenged party then has 24 hours to respond to said challenge.
If the challenged person elects not to participate, they are encouraged to make a donation to the charity of their choosing which supports ALS.
As I mentioned previous, Palat has chosen to step up to the plate.
Let’s take a look as Lightning left wing Ondrej Palat as he takes the plunge and shows his support for ALS Awareness.
The bucket is now in your court, gentlemen!
What exactly is ALS, you may ask? ALS is short for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
If you would like more information on how the disease affects the body and the research that is being done to combat the disease, you can visit the ALS Association’s Official Site. It is filled with information about not just their research, but how you can get involved yourself.
Have you taken part in the Ice Bucket Challenge yet? Who else on the Lightning would you like to see cool off to raise awareness for ALS? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
