While the Tampa Bay Lightning prepare to take on the Ottawa Senators for the final time this season, we take a look at the top headlines from here in the Bolts Nation and around the NHL.

The Tampa Bay Lightning has set themselves on a bit of a rollercoaster as of late; one that will hopefully be put to bed tonight when the Lightning take the ice.

After playing one of the best games that they have played all season long against the Montreal Canadiens, which resulted in the Lightning clinching their playoff berth, they played one of the most disorganized games of the season against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Now, the Tampa Bay Lightning must pull it together and refocus their efforts on the task at hand; which tonight means taking the ice at the Canadian Tire Centre and going head to head with the Ottawa Senators in their final matchup of the season.

While we wait for all of the action to kick into high gear tonight, let’s take a look at some of the top headlines from not only here in Hockey Paradise, but around the rest of the National Hockey League as well.

One of the things that Tampa Bay Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman has been very successful at in his time here in the Sunshine State is building a strong core for the Tampa Bay Lightning, which has been tested greatly since the team began experiencing its recent slew of injuries.

Yesterday, he added another piece to that core as he signed goaltender Adam Wilcox to a two-year contract. [Tampa Bay Lightning]

As the regular season begins to wind down, both in the National Hockey League and the American Hockey League alike, some teams have already shifted their scope to next season. Thankfully, this isn’t really the case for the Syracuse Crunch right this second.

At the same time, it also means that awards time is right around the corner. There is one award that has already been handed out. Crunch RW Eric Neilson has been named the 2014-15 IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year. [Syracuse Crunch]

Anyone who has watched the Tampa Bay Lightning this season knows that they have had to deal with more than their fair share of injuries this season. Unfortunately for the rest of the National Hockey League, the Lightning aren’t the only team to have to deal with such injuries. Here is a look at what Bleacher Report deems to be some of the deepest teams in the National Hockey League this season. [Bleacher Report]

As of you already know, Tampa Bay Lightning and Syracuse Crunch defenseman Slater Koekkoek made his NHL debut on Tuesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, but for Koekkoek and his family, it is tonight’s game that is going to be particularly special.

You see, Koekkoek comes from a small town called Winchester in Ontario. This is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Canadian Tire Centre where the Tampa Bay Lightning is taking on the Ottawa Senators tonight. According to Koekkoek’s dad Brian, he may have about 200 friends and family members in the stands to cheer him on tonight. [Tampa Bay Times]

In just a little while, the Tampa Bay Lightning will be taking the ice to go head to head with the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. This season, the Tampa Bay Lightning has been lucky enough to have a plethora of players who could light up the scoreboard. There is a new name that is lighting it up for the Senators, and that name is Jean-Gabriel Pageau. Take a closer look at one of the newest members of the Senators lineup, one that could have an impact in tonight’s matchup. [SenShot]

The Tampa Bay Lightning may have made it to the big game, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty of work ahead of them as the regular season comes to a close. In just a little while longer, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Ottawa Senators take the ice with plenty of playoff implications on the line.

The question is, are you ready to Be The Thunder? Here is a look at all the information you’ll need to make sure you don’t miss a moment of the action tonight.
