Now that the Tampa Bay Lightning has clinched home ice advantage with their 4-0 shutout win over the Florida Panthers, we take a look at the top headlines around Hockey Paradise and the NHL.

The Tampa Bay Lightning played a solid game tonight as they not only shutout the Florida Panthers 4-0, completely dashing their playoff hopes this season, but the Lightning has also clinched home ice advantage in the first round of the 2014-15 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

There are a lot of things happening here in the Bolts Nation, and with only two games left in the regular season; we will get to see how they all play out sooner rather than later.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will enjoy four days off before they have to charge back onto the ice once again, this time on home ice at the Amalie Arena, to take on Patrik Elias and the New Jersey Devils. From there, the Lightning will embark on their final battle of the regular season against the “big, bad” Boston Bruins.

Now that the Tampa Bay Lightning is in a comfortable position for the post season, we direct our attention to the hot news of the day. Let’s take a look at some of the Top Headlines here in the Bolts Nation and around the rest of the National Hockey League.

As we have mentioned before, one of the things that Tampa Bay Lightning Vice President and General Manager Steve Yzerman has been incredibly good at in his time with the organization is building our young core of players. Now, it seems as if the Lightning has made moves to secure another player in that young core. The Lightning have signed center Matthew Peca to a two-year contract. [Tampa Bay Lightning]

The Syracuse Crunch may be on a bit of a depressing losing streak over the course of the last few games, but there is something rather significant that the Crunch has in common with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Both teams have secured themselves a spot in the post season. The Lightning will be chasing the Stanley Cup while the Syracuse Crunch will be skating towards the Calder Cup. [Syracuse Crunch]

Despite all the happiness here in the Bolts Nation, today is a rather sad day in the world of hockey. It would seem as if the hockey family known as the National Hockey League has lost one of their own. Montreal Canadiens Hall of Famer Elmer Lach, who his entire 14 year career with the Montreal Canadiens, has passed away at the age of 97. [Puck Daddy]

The Tampa Bay Lightning are looking forward to a deep run in the 2014-15 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately, there are teams in the NHL that are already looking forward to next season. There are plenty of things on the horizon to look forward to; the NHL Draft, the NHL Awards, and maybe more importantly the Free Agency Period. Bleacher Report takes a look at the one Free Agent each team should target. [Bleacher Report]

The Tampa Bay Lightning will have four glorious days off to prepare for their next encounter. When the Lightning do charge back into the Amalie Arena, they will be taking on the New Jersey Devils. The Devils are not exactly in a good place right now. Tonight, the Devils fall 6-1 to the New York Rangers, only to have to meet them once again on Tuesday night. What does this mean for the Devils? [Pucks and Pitchforks]

As we mentioned before, there are still two games on the horizon before the Tampa Bay Lightning begin the 16 games to glory journey through the post season. A lot can happen in those two games that can have an effect on the way things shape up for the Lightning in the post season.

This means that even though we’re currently sitting pretty in regards to position and home ice advantage, we still need to keep our focus and continue to play the kind of hockey that we have all season long; the kind of hockey that got us to where we are now.

If there is any team in the National Hockey League with the drive and the determination to get the job done, that team is the one and only Tampa Bay Lightning. The question is are you ready to Be The Thunder?
