Sport Chek: Steven Stamkos Featured In New Commercial (Video)

Sport Chek’s newest commercial featuring Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos will make you want to hit the gym post haste.

Anyone who has ever played the game of hockey knows that it is much more difficult than the players in the National Hockey League make it look. Players like Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos have to put everything on the line if they want to take their team to the postseason.

If you are one of the many hockey fans who find themselves residing in the Great, White, North – otherwise known as Canada – you have more than likely heard of a sports clothing company by the name of Sport Chek. The company, which is based out of Calgary, Alberta, is hailed as the largest retailer of its kind in Canada.

Sport Chek has recently released a new commercial featuring the Tampa Bay Lightning’s very own Steven Stamkos. In the commercial, they pose an interesting question, “Are you doing enough?” This is a question that every professional athlete, not just hockey players, should be asking themselves every single day.

As much as you desire a particular goal, like raising the Stanley Cup high above your head, there is someone else who wants that very same thing as much – if not more – than you do. If you don’t do everything within your power to raise your game, you are giving that other person the power to take your dream away from you.

If there is anyone who knows what hard work and dedication is, that player is Steven Stamkos. In the early part of the 2013-14 season, Steven Stamkos suffered an injury that no hockey player ever wants to experience, a fractured right tibia that would cause the Lightning’s star center to miss just about four months of the season.

During his downtime, Stamkos did anything within his power to make his way back to the ice. While he may not have achieved his ultimate goal of playing for his native Canada in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, he still returned to the Lightning in an incredible amount of time and hit the ice with a vengeance worthy of any team captain.

This is not the first time that the Toronto native has appeared in a commercial for the brand. Stamkos appeared in a commercial for the brand during his recovery from his fractured right tibia that discussed making tough decisions.

We don’t know about you, but after watching this commercial we find ourselves with an overwhelming urge to get back into the gym and start working towards some goals of our own.

In just a few more weeks, we will see how much Steven Stamkos’ hard work and dedication during the off-season has paid off as the Tampa Bay Lightning prepare to charge back into the Amalie Arena on October 8^th for the Lightning Home Opener. Are you ready to Be The Thunder once again?
