The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced the dates for their annual Development Camp at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon.

It seems just like yesterday the Tampa Bay Lightning were on the plane home from Pittsburgh at the end of the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals. The off-season is now officially in full swing as the Pittsburgh Penguins have defeated the San Jose Sharks to capture the Stanley Cup.

As most Tampa Bay Lightning fans know by now, the Bolts Nation is more than likely going to be hit with a lot of changes over the course of the off-season. There are more than a few contracts that need to be signed before the start of the 2016-17 season, one of which is the contract belonging to Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos.

Next, the Lightning will turn their eyes towards the 2016 NHL Draft. From there, all eyes will be on the Free Agency Period, which opens up on July 1st. This is where all of those aforementioned contracts that need signing will really and truly come into play.

Well, it seems the Tampa Bay Lightning have their sights set a little further in the future than the NHL Draft. The Tampa Bay Lightning have officially announced the dates for their annual Development Camp. The action will kick off on Tuesday, June 28th at the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon.

The festivities will continue from June 28th until Saturday, July 2nd. As usual, Development Camp is completely free and open to the public. As usual, the final two days of camp will conclude with a 3-on-3 tournament. Judging by what we have seen in past years if you can only make it to one or two days of camp, the 3-on-3 tournament is the one you don’t want to miss.

The tournament kicks off just days after the NHL Draft takes place in at the First Niagara Center, home of the Buffalo Sabres. This means not only will fans have an opportunity to see some of the Tampa Bay Lightning’s best and brightest talent in the Lightning’s developmental organization like Anthony DeAngelo and Adam Erne, but they will also get a look at some of the newest additions acquired in the NHL Draft.

If fans want to get a closer look at the future of the Tampa Bay Lightning, and potentially some of the players who will make their way onto the ice with the Lightning next season, this is the place to do it.
