Tampa Bay Lightning Recall Joel Vermin From Syracuse Crunch
The Tampa Bay Lightning has recalled forward Joel Vermin from the Syracuse Crunch.
It’s just another average day here in the Bolts Nation. The Tampa Bay Lightning are set to take on the Anaheim Ducks for the second and final time this season tonight at the Amalie Arena, and the Bolts are dealing with yet another injury issue.
As some Lightning fans may know by now, the Tampa Bay Lightning will be taking the ice without the assistance of Lightning forward Ondrej Palat. According to Lightning Head Coach Jon Cooper, Palat sustained an undisclosed injury late in Thursday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators and is now considered to be day-to-day.
All things considered, it should come as no surprise the Bolts are in need of a little assistance as they prepare to face the Ducks. According to Tampa Bay Lightning Beat Writer Bryan Burns, the Lightning found their man rather early this morning.

Bright and early this morning, Burns announced on his Twitter page the Tampa Bay Lightning had placed a call to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and recalled forward Joel Vermin. Expediently enough, Vermin has already made his way to the Sunshine State and was on the ice with the team for practice.
Joel Vermin made his 2016-17 debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning on December 10th as the Bolts took on captain Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, a game in which the Lightning lost 4-3. Since then, Vermin has played in nine games with the Bolts.
In that amount of time, the 24-year-old Czech native has brought home a total of two assists to accompany his plus-2 rating. While Vermin may not be a Nikita Kucherov at this point in his career, he has certainly proven himself to be a valuable asset to the Lightning in his time here in Florida.
The Tampa Bay Lightning has a long road ahead of them. As the season forges on, the Lightning is running out of opportunities to save their season. Granted, the amount of injuries they’ve been forced to deal with this season has wreaked havoc on the team’s chemistry, but the Bolts must find a way to start winning games, or they’ll be out of the postseason before they can even utter the word.

Hopefully, Joel Vermin will be able to make up for what the team has lost in Ondrej Palat and help the team find the chemistry they’ve been desperately searching for. The Lightning finds themselves in a must-win situation where every point missed could prove to be the end of the season.
