The floor of Amalie Arena will play host to more than 50 breweries in August when the Tampa Bay Lightning and Creative Loafing present Bolts Brew Fest.

Fans of the Tampa Bay Lightning may have been left hungry for more, as the Bolts missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the 2016-17 campaign. While there’s nothing that can fix that, fans with a certain palate can quench their thirst when the team, along with local alt-weekly Creative Loafing, presents Bolts Brew Fest.

The event, which the paper describes as “the beer-drinking event of the summer,” is taking place at Amalie Arena on Saturday, August 5. The doors for VIP entry open at 6 p.m., with regular admission at 7 p.m.; the event is scheduled to run until 10 p.m.

According to the announcement on NHL.com, attendees will be treated to offerings from both local and national craft breweries, from Big Storm Brewing, Cigar City Brewing and Coppertail Brewing to New Belgium, Oskar Blues and Sierra Nevada. A full roster of participating breweries is expected to be released in advance of the event, but the event organizers promise more than 50 breweries present, bringing with them more than 100 brews for guests to sample. No word yet on if any members of the Tampa Bay Lightning will be in attendance.

General admission tickets — $50 in advance, $60 on the day of the event — will get you unlimited beer sampling and a ticket voucher to a 2017 Tampa Bay Lightning preseason game. VIP entry — $100 in advance, $125 day-of — comes with unlimited sampling, a voucher to a 2017 preseason game, an extra hour of sampling (without the crowds!), free parking, a tour of the Lightning locker room, plus access to a VIP-only selection of food and beer in the Lexus Lounge.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. On Friday, May 5, and can be purchased at the McDonald’s Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets or Ticketmaster.com.
