<p>A stunning infographic detailing <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/stlouma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Martin St. Louis</a></strong>&#8216; amazing ride to the <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/rossar01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Art Ross</a></strong> Trophy throughout the 2012-13 season was released today by the Tampa Bay Lightning. It details miscellaneous facts about Marty, and also breaks down every single goal that he scored in the season. A similar infograph was released at the end of last season with <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/stamkst01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Steven Stamkos</a></strong>&#8216; 60 goals. The image was used on posters that were given away at radio show events. I&#8217;m hoping that they will do the same with Marty&#8217;s.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a nice poster waiting to be made. However, I&#8217;d of picked a different picture of Marty personally. One of him smiling. Perhaps they wanted to catch the &#8216;real&#8217; <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/stlouma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Martin St. Louis</a></strong>; the serious Martin St. Louis.</p>
<p>It breaks down to this:</p>
<p>Martin St. Louis has become the oldest player in NHL history to be awarded the <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/r/rossar01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Art Ross</a></strong> Trophy, which is given to the league&#8217;s player with the most points. This is the second time that he has received it. The first time was back in the championship 2003-04 season. With a span in between of 9 years, this is the longest span of the only 12 players before Marty to win the Art Ross more than once.</p>
<p>Marty recorded 43 assists, the most in the NHL for the season. He notched 17 goals, 2nd on the team behind <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/s/stamkst01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Steven Stamkos</a></strong>. 26 points on the road makes him the 3rd in the league behind <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/o/ovechal01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Alex Ovechkin</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/k/kanepa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Patrick Kane</a></strong>. He is tied with Steven Stamkos for the most points at home in the NHL with 34.</p>
<p>Martin St. Louis breaks the record for oldest player to receive the Art Ross held by <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/c/cookbi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Bill Cook</a></strong> for 80 years. He was 36 when he won the trophy back in 1932-33 when he played for the New York Rangers. <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/h/howego01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Gordie Howe</a></strong> was 35 and played for the Detroit RedWings when he got it in 1962-63. At the age of 32 in a Pittsburgh Penguins uniform, it went to <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/lemiema01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Mario Lemieux</a></strong>.</p>
<p>St. Louis averaged 1.25 goals per game, 1 of only 3 players in NHL history to do so at the age of 37 or older. The other two were <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/h/howego01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Gordie Howe</a></strong> in 1968-69 and <strong><a href="http://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/lemiema01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-boltsbythebay.com" target="_blank">Mario Lemieux</a></strong> in 2002-03.</p>
<p>Marty ranked 5th in the league for Power Play assists with 17.</p>
<p>On April 24 against the Toronto Maple Leafs Marty got his 7th career hattrick at the Tampa Bay Times Forum. The Lightning won that one 5-2.</p>
<p>January</p>
<p>3 vs Washington Capitals 2 goals, 1 assist; 21 @ New York Islanders 1 goal 1 assist; 25 vs Ottawa Senators 2 assists; 27 vs Philadelphia Flyers 4 assists; 29 vs Florida Panthers 1 assist</p>
<p>February</p>
<p>1 @ Winnipeg Jets 1 assist; 2 vs New York Rangers 1 assist; 7 @ Jew Jersey Devils 2 assists; 12 vs New York Rangers 1 assist; 14th vs Washington Capitals 1 goal, 1 assist; 16 @ Florida Panthers 2 assists; 19 vs Toronto Maple Leafs 1 assist; 23 @ Carolina Hurricanes 1 assist; 24 @ Pittsburgh Penguins 1 assist; 28 @ New York Rangers 1 goal</p>
<p>March</p>
<p>2 @ Boston Bruins 1 assist; 4 @ Pittsburgh Penguins 2 assists; 5 @ New Jersey Devils 1 goal, 1 assist; 7 vs Winnipeg Jets 1 assist; 9 vs Montreal Canadiens 2 assists; 12 @ Florida Panthers 1 goal, 1 assist; 16 @ Carolina Hurricanes 1 assist; 18 vs Philadelphia Flyers 1 assist; 20 @ Toronto Maple Leafs 1 assist; 24  @ Winnipeg Jets 1 assist; 26 vs Buffalo Sabres 1 goal (game winning), 1 assist; 29 vs New Jersey Devils 1 assist</p>
<p>April</p>
<p>4 @ Carolina Hurricanes 1 goal, 2 assists; 7 @ Washington Capitals 1 assist; 9 vs Ottawa Senators 2 assists; 11 vs Pittsburgh Penguins 1 assist; 13 @ Washington Capitals 2 goals; 16 @ Winnipeg Jets 1 goal; 21 vs Carolina Hurricanes 1 goal 1 assist; 24 vs Toronto Maple Leafs 3 goals; 27 vs Florida Panthers 1 goal, 1 assist</p>
<p>&#8230;and there ya have it. A break down of Martin St. Louis&#8217; record breaking season.</p>
