Today the Tampa Bay Lightning re-assigned Matt Lashoff and Mike Lundin to Norfolk of the AHL. Looks like the blue line is starting to shape up. These are the remaining D-Men fighting for the job.

The Lightning capped a generally encouraging preseason last night with a 5 to 1 drubbing of the Atlanta Thrashers. The Bolts finish off their 2009-2010 preseason with a record of 4 wins. 3 losses, with 1 win and 1 loss coming in overtime. The overtime loss came in a game against Dallas where none of our superstars were dressed. The game went to a shootout where Brad Richards tallied the game winner. Go figure!
After two years of hard to watch hockey, the Bolts seem to have put together a team that will compete in the quite strong Eastern Conference. Today [...]

So the Washinton Capitals finished off our home schedule with a bang. Well it was less of a bang and more of a thump. Or maybe it was a thud? Whatever it was, it was the sound a team makes when they are second worst in the league and are being beat by a bunch of All-Stars. It was a interesting 1st period with our resident rookie phenom Mr. Steven Stamkos breaking the franchise record for most goals scored in a rookie season. I hate to harp, but wasn’t he not ready for the NHL? But I digress. The rest [...]

This has nothing to do with the Lightning, other than the fact that we are battling the lowly Islanders for Lottery Balls in the NHL Draft Sucktitude Lottery. The Islanders and Flyers fought 4 times the other night in a game that meant nothing for the Isle other than pride.

So with the loss tonight to the Montreal Canadiens, the Tampa Bay Lightning have clenched the record for the most overtime losses in one season. So who knew that while we were earning 1 point 18 times, that we would go down in NHL history as one of the worst! We have lost 5 out of 6 of our last games in OT. Now if this was the beginning of the season I would be semi-ok with this. But since we keep gaining points in OT we are now only third worst in the NHL. I know its a little [...]

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Now that I have gotten that off of my chest lets get down to what happened. What happened is, that for the first time in my life, I got up and walked out of the St. Pete Times Forum before the hockey game was over. But if you watched that game, it was over 5 minutes into the 1st period. The Bolts wanted to make sure that they finished their series with the Carolina Hurricanes with a bang. Unfortuantely for the Bolts players, the bangs they heard were the ones coming from the exit doors as all the fans were [...]

The Lightning rallied from a 3 -1 defecit to tie up the game with less than a minute left against the St. Louis Blues last night. With the goalie pulled, and the extra attacker on, Mr. I am gonna be a stud, Steve Stamkos fired a goal home from the point to tie the game up and send it into overtime. OT didnt last long as Ramo let the 1st or 2nd shot past to end the game 4-3.
But all was not a loss last night. There were a few bright spots in a lame loss. The fact that the [...]
