“Nikita Kucherov is the Bolts Prospect Performer of the week.”
If there is anything to remain excited about while in the middle of a lockout that does not seem to be coming to an end soon, it is the Lightning prospects. The most obvious this year; Cory Conacher. However, 2011 2nd round draft pick Nikita Kucherov has also provided something for Lightning fans to look forward to. How appropriate is that? With this lockout, all we have been able to do is look forward to the future, as the present has a dismal vibe to it.
Kucherov missed the first 13 games for the Quebec Remparts because of a shoulder injury, but has played well since making his debut about two weeks ago. Kucherov scored a goal and assisted on three in two games this week, earning him the Lightning Prospect Performer of the Week. Kucherov is not an overly large forward; he stands at 5 feet 11 inches, and weighs 165 pounds. Of course, small forwards are a way of life in the Lightning organization. We know the a fore mentioned Cory Conacher well, and fans are definitely familiar with Marty St. Louis. The future is made bright by young prospects like Conacher and Kucherov.
