#184 overall – Saku Salminen, Center, JokeritFinnish Elite League

Saku Salminen played 13 games with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League last season.

In that time, the 6’3” Helsinki, Finland native scored 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points. He also spent some time with Jokerit Jr. In the 4 games he played with them, he scored 1 goal and 2 assists for a 3 points.

The 187 pound center also played 12 games with Kiekko-Vantaa of the second tier Finnish League. There he was able to add another goal and 4 assists to his numbers.

This brings his season totals throughout all teams to 3 goals and 7 assists for a total of 10 points in 29 games.

While I have not seen a whole lot of information in regards to his play, what I have seen has sparked my interest. He seems like the kind of consistent player who may not be the Steven Stamkos of the team, but one that will indeed get the job done when necessary.
