As the Tampa Bay Lightning face off with the Boston Bruins at the TD Garden, we take a look at some of the top headlines around the National Hockey League today.

The Tampa Bay Lightning has their work cut out for them tonight at the TD Garden in Boston as they take on the Boston Bruins in search of a little redemption.

Unfortunately, as most of you know by now, the Lightning will have to take on the Bruins without the assistance of three of their key players.

Tampa Bay Lightning left wing Ondrej Palat (Lower Body Injury) is set to miss 2-3 weeks, center Cedric Paquette(Upper Body Injury) will miss 10-14 days, and defenseman Braydon Coburn (Lower Body Injury) will miss 4-6 weeks; all as a result of injuries sustained on Tuesday night in the Lightning’s 1-0 overtime win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Despite the adversity they are facing now, the Tampa Bay Lightning have what it takes to get the job done. Like the old saying says, “the only thing to it is to do it.”

Now that there is a little break in the action at the TD Garden, let’s take a look at some of the top headlines here in the Bolts Nation, as well as the rest of the National Hockey League today.

As we approach the final games of the 2014-15 season, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, are in the very same place. While the Lightning prepare for the opening rounds of the 2014-15 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Crunch are getting ready for another run at the Calder Cup. [Tampa Bay Lightning]

On March 27th, the Syracuse Crunch will be having a special night. As they take on the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the War Memorial Arena, the Crunch will be holding their Donate Life Awareness Night. This night will be centered around encouraging people to become organ donors and thus “donating life” to a person in need. [Syracuse Crunch]

Now that the NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone, teams around the NHL get to see how their new acquisitions really fit in with their organization. Sometimes this brings about plenty of “what if” scenarios. In the spirit of this, what would have happened if the Chicago Blackhawks had traded Patrick Sharp instead of Nick Leddy? [Blackhawk Up]

As we mentioned before, the NHL Trade Deadline is in the rearview mirror, the 2014-15 Stanley Cup Playoffs are on the horizon, and General Managers have their eyes set on the 2015 NHL Draft and any impending Salary Cap issues they may be facing in the upcoming off-season. The Boston Bruins have made a lot of moves lately, and while they may be beneficial on the ice, they may put them in a bit of a pickle in Salary Cap space. [Causeway Crowd]

If you have been watching the NHL Network or basically paying attention to anything going on in Toronto as of late, you will know that there is quite a bit of off-ice drama going on with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Finally, some of that off-ice drama has made its way onto the ice. Leafs center Nazem Kadri has been involved in a number of off-ice incidents, and now he has finally been disciplined by the Maple Leafs organization. The question is, was it the right decision. As we continue on through the final games of the 2014-15 season, things are going to really start to heat up. Bringing home the two points becomes more important than ever before, and they are coming in shorter and shorter supply.

We don’t know about you, but we are anxious to see where the remainder of the season takes us and where we are sitting when the post season finally kicks into high gear.
