The Tampa Bay Lightning has officially announced their schedule for the 2015-2016 season which kicks off on Tuesday, September 22nd.
The Tampa Bay Lightning just finished an amazing season, and despite our best efforts the hockey withdrawals have started to kick in. Things like the NHL Draft and the Free Agency period are nice to get your mind off things for a little bit, but there is nothing like a good, old fashioned hockey game to make everything right in the world.
We know the off-season seems like forever; especially when you are at the very beginning of it, but the good news is that it really isn’t quite as long as we would think. In fact, we are exactly three months away from puck drop once again. How do we know this? Well, allow us to elaborate a little.
Just a little while ago, the Tampa Bay Lightning announced their Official Preseason Schedule for the 2015-16 season! See…we told you it wasn’t that far away.
All the preseason action kicks off on Tuesday, September 22nd when the Tampa Bay Lightning opens the doors to the Amalie Arena to take on the Nashville Predators at 7:30 p.m.
In addition to the Predators, the Tampa Bay Lightning will also face off with teams like our in-state rival Florida Panthers, the Dallas Stars, and even the Pittsburgh Penguins. Speaking of the Penguins, the captain Steven Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning has the amazing opportunity to face off with Sidney Crosby and the Penguins in the inaugural “Kraft Hockeyville USA” event in Jonestown, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 29th.
This program not only brings preseason hockey to places around the nation that may not necessarily have an NHL team to their name, but that have plenty of passionate hockey fans, but it also gives a local arena $150,000 to upgrade their facilities. The game will be televised live on NBC Sports Network.
The schedule does come at the players pretty quickly as there are a lot of back-to-back games involving travel in between, but what better way to jumpstart the season than with a swift kick in the behind to get the adrenaline flowing?
So…without further ado, here is a look at the Official Preseason Schedule for our Tampa Bay Lightning.
