Over the weekend, Corey Long of NHL.com released an article highlighting the top 5 prospects in the Tampa Bay Lightning farm system.
If you are familiar with Tampa Bay Lightning prospects, you may have a good idea of who the organizations top names are. Some of these players were drafted recently while others have developed into the players they are today over the past few years while the team controlled their rights. Recently, I took a look at Corey Long’s Tampa Bay Lightning top 5 prospect article and compared it to my own top 10 prospects article here on Bolts By The Bay. Here is how Mr.Long ranked the team’s top prospects.
Overall, I feel like the list was pretty good in terms of talent, but ranking Gudlevskis at the top really makes me wonder who else could be on the list instead. Nikita Nesterov is still technically called a prospect, Jonathan Marchessualt has shown that he can play at both levels, and Tanner Richard is also an underrated prospect that will turn heads again this year.
Whether you agree with the rankings or my personal views, I think we can all agree when we say the Tampa Bay Lightning prospect pool is loaded with quality young talent that will one day look to make the NHL roster. We will continue to watch their players grow up before our very eyes and all of the prospect analysis you will ever need will be located here on BoltsByTheBay.com
