The Tampa Bay Lightning hope to get back on track as they battle captain Joe Pavelski tonight at the Amalie Arena in an East vs. West showdown.
The Tampa Bay Lightning has been dealing with their fair share of struggles in the last week or so. Unfortunately, on Sunday night the St. Louis Blues were able to capitalize on some of the Lightning’s struggles and send them packing in a 2-1 defeat at the Amalie Arena. Thankfully, the Tampa Bay Lightning has an opportunity to put this temporary lapse in the past and get things back on track.
The Lightning will open the doors to the Amalie Arena tonight to host captain Joe Pavelski and the San Jose Sharks. This will be the second, and final, time these two teams will meet in the center of the ice during the regular season. In their first encounter, the Tampa Bay Lightning were able to edge out the San Jose Sharks with a 4-3 victory at the SAP Center on December 5th.
There are a couple of milestones hanging in the balance tonight as the Sharks come swimming into town. The first of those is that Lightning defenseman Matt Carle is expected to play in his 700th career game tonight against the Sharks. Also, Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos is just a mere two goals away from reaching the 300 career goal mark. Could we see number 300 tonight in Tampa Bay? We’ll have to watch and find out.
While some Tampa Bay Lightning fans make their way to the Amalie Arena and others to their favorite viewing location, let’s take a closer look at all the information you’ll need to make sure you don’t miss a single moment of the action tonight between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the San Jose Sharks.
