The Tampa Bay Lightning had an opportunity to close out the series at home. Instead, a lackluster effort has the series headed back to Pittsburgh for Game 7.

The Tampa Bay Lightning had a very special opportunity in front of them on Tuesday night. The Lightning headed into the Amalie Arena to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 6 of the 2016 Eastern Conference Final and close out the series in front of their hometown crowd. Unfortunately, a lackluster 1st and 2nd period made the Lightning’s charge in the third period almost irrelevant.

Now, the Tampa Bay Lightning will have to face down their Eastern Conference rivals deep into hostile territory. The one who emerges victoriously will continue on to the 2016 Stanley Cup Final. The loser will head home in defeat and an early start to the offseason. We’re pretty positive the Tampa Bay Lightning will be looking to walk away with Option A.
