The Tampa Bay Lightning head home to the Amalie Arena to take on the Boston Bruins in the hopes of picking up a much-needed two points.

The Tampa Bay Lightning has been through more than their fair share of trials and tribulations this season. Unfortunately, the time for excuses has already come and gone. If the Lightning has any hopes at all of salvaging this season and potentially putting themselves in the playoff picture, they need to make a move now.

The Lightning will get just such an opportunity tonight. Granted, the task in front of them will not be a simple one, but it will also not be an impossible journey. The Tampa Bay Lightning will charge into the Amalie Arena to take on the “big, bad” Boston Bruins. This will be the third and final time these two teams meet this season.

Unfortunately, the first two meetings of the season didn’t exactly work out the way the Lightning or their fans would’ve hoped. In fact, even if the Lightning manage to bring home the two points in tonight’s contest, the Bruins will still win the season series, having defeated the Lightning in their two previous encounters.

On the bright side, with the exception of the players who were in attendance at the 2017 NHL All-Star Game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, NHL has been on pause for the last couple of days. This could seriously play to the Lightning’s advantage. The break could potentially give some of the team’s injured players a chance to heal and (crossing fingers) make their way back to the ice.

Granted, there is a slim chance of this occurring since most of the injured players are listed as long-term, but if you don’t have hope, you have nothing at all to strive towards. While things may be improbable, they are not impossible.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have been down this road more times than most fans would like to recall. The one thing that remains consistent is the fact the team has always found a way to come out on top. It may look gloomy at the moment, but we still have faith the Lightning can salvage what’s left of the season.

While Lightning fans wait on the edge of their seats for all of tonight’s action to kick into high gear, let’s take a closer look at all the information needed to ensure you don’t miss a moment of the action tonight between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Boston Bruins from the Amalie Arena at 401 Channelside.

Next: How Can The Lightning Get Back On Track?

The road may be long and filled with obstacles, but if the Tampa Bay Lightning can start working like the well-oiled machine we have come to know and love, they should be able to make something out of what’s left of the season. If not, the sights may soon be focused on next season instead of the postseason.
